What Goes Around

So now I finally have my coffeemaker.  I did not have time to take it out of the box yet. Hopefully I will tonight. But I will have to go to the store to get cream, sugar, and coffee. The trip to the store will be well worth it for many reasons.  One reason being I will not have to bump into co-workers at the office coffeemaker. Some of them I don't want to talk to before my first cup, the others I don't want to talk to at all. Hah!

The in-laws gave me very nice clothes for Christmas.  They were all too small.  I cried and cried.  I was just trying to keep up the tradition of me crying every Christmas. I'm not sure why I do that, I'm always so happy and thankful!   So now I have to take the clothes back to the multiple stores they came from.  I think I will just return them and get the money back.  I refuse to buy larger clothes.  I can hold  the money until I magically shrink.  I have already made one change.  I will use one packet of sugar instead of two with my coffee.  Hopefully that will be the only change I will need to make.  (yeah right!)

I managed to take a cute animal pic this Christmas. It is not of my dog because she isn't cute right now. She needs a haircut and a bath!  The pic is of the mother's cat, Gracie.  She is the only cat the parents have ever had that does not bite me.  For that reason I really like her. This is a picture of her under their Christmas tree.

Today's song is What Goes Around by Justin Timberlake. The song on my iPod is 7:27 minutes long.  The video is 9:22 minutes long. I thought there was a cut-off time for the length of songs? You can watch the video if you have an hour or two to spare.

Have a great day readers!

Hurts So Good

This morning I woke up at my parent's house.  Well, not exactly in their house.  They have a new guest house that we were able to use.  That means its extra quiet and no chance of their stealth-like cat attacking me in the middle of the night. Also no chance of me knowing when breakfast is ready.  That would be the only negative of sleeping in the guest house.

Tonight we exchange presents at the in-laws.  They go all out and its so much fun.  However, there is a some pressure on me while I am there.  The pressure is for me to love each gift. And I usually do. His family loves to see me smile and hear me laugh.  I hope I can keep this up even when I'm in my sixties.  Although I'm sure once his brother and wife have a baby, the focus will be on them.  I mean, it can't always be about me, can it?

Today's song is Hurts So Good by John Mellencamp or John Cougar Mellencamp. Whichever you prefer. To be honest I left the iPod in the car last night, but this song did play on it at some point during our drive yesterday.  I think the phrase "hurts so good" can really describe going home for the holidays.

Have a great day!

Boyfriend

Today will be a busy day.  As soon as work lets me off I will be on the road to my parent's house for Christmas. I am starting to get excited.  How can you tell?  Well when I am truly excited, I get very quiet.  I still have not packed my bags. It truly will be a miracle to get everything in my car.  We have to travel will all of the presents (including two large planter pots),  luggage, dog, dog cage, sister, and sister stuff.  I should take a picture of the end result.

What did I do last night instead of pack?  We went and saw True Grit.  I'm not a movie critic, but it was amaaaaaazing.  (Said in that high pitch sing-song voice the boys on Glee use.)  My sister even enjoyed it.  I think it may have been her first movie she went to see that wasn't Disney.  She told me that she was so into it that she didn't hear the people talking in front of us.  Just thinking of those 5 teenagers starts my blood boiling again.  They really and truly did talk the entire movie. They even got out of their chairs and switched seats.  This is not chinese fire drill time!  I did throw one piece of popcorn at them, but no change. If not for the husband talking sense into me, I probably would have woken up in jail.

The song Boyfriend in my iPod is sung by Ashlee Simpson.  I'm not even sure why it's in there.  When I think of Ashlee Simpson I think of when she started dancing on SNL because her pre-recorded music started to skip.  With today's technology, should that ever happen? Now this annoying song is stuck in my head.  Probably in yours too.

Have a great day readers!

Girl in the War

Last night I finished wrapping all the Christmas presents.  I'm not one of those people that wrap gifts right after I buy them.  I usually wrap them all in one or two sittings and usually at the very last minute. So I surprised myself this year by completing this task early. Afterwards the husband and I decided to swap gifts. I knew all the gifts he bought for me except one.  It was in a medium sized box.  I shook it and it sounded like a million pieces were inside of it.  I was thinking to myself, is it a puzzle?  Is it some type of project?

Well I opened and it and laughed and laughed!

It was a box of promotional writing pens! 8 pounds of them! You see, I love pens of any kind! Especially pharmaceutical pens and business pens.  I organize them into multiple categories. Whenever I tell people about my love for pens they give me a weird look and it makes me laugh.  It was a really great gift from a wonderful husband.

Girl in the War is by Josh Ritter.  I saw him open up for Jamie Cullum a few years back with my older brother. He has a great voice.  Both my brother and Josh Ritter.
