Smaller Curves Ahead!

Yesterday was my birthday.  I'm now the ripe ol' age of 27.  I started the day off by eating a delicious breakfast with my husband at the local bakery.  I had eggs-over-medium, bacon, a biscuit with cold gravy, and potatoes.  It was pretty yummy besides the cold gravy.  I left the bakery without cookies, cupcakes, or a cake.  That is a great accomplishment for myself.

Then at 10am, I went to my hair stylist and received a much needed haircut.  It looks so much better!  The length is to my shoulders and layered.  Or "thinned out" as the husband called it.  I don't think I ate lunch yesterday because I was saving room for dinner.

For dinner I went to Surin 280 with three other people.  I can't get enough of their tofu coconut soup.  It is so creamy and delicious. I wish I could describe it better for you.  It was the first time my husband and I went there together.  He ordered the bbq chicken and I had the Thai noodle bowl.  I can't wait to go again.

While we are on the subject of food, I should let you know that I'm about to start a "healthier lifestyle" phase (aka diet).  My friend "T" and I are starting it tomorrow and will keep each other accountable.  I do not want to let myself or her down.  I think with her help, I can finally become successful at this.

My plan to achieve weight loss is the P90X workout program,  a Shakeology drink every morning after the workout, eat sensibly 5 times a day, and push my water.  And to truly understand that this will not happen overnight and to NOT GIVE UP!

I'm hesitant to put all my measurements and before pics out on blogworld just yet. But, I will once I reach my target of 115 pounds.  That is the weight I was on my wedding day and is a reasonable, healthy goal.  Have a great week!

It's Hot Captain Obvious

The A/C is still broke.  I think we may call the repairman tomorrow.  It was a pleasant 88 degrees inside the house when I got home from work.  I'm blessed to even know what A/C feels like, however I do want it back.  Even the pup is accustomed to the cool air.  Here she is hogging the fan.

Newsflash! The Krispy Kreme finally opened.  This is both good and bad news.  Good because wonderful donuts are close by.  Bad because now I have to pass by TWO donut shops on the way to work.  Time to update the dress code at work to include sweatpants. Because that is all I will be able to fit into soon.

Also, can the neighborhood kids please stop igniting fireworks now?  It is the 6th.  I don't want to sound cranky, but it takes me a while to decide if I am hearing fireworks or an army calvary.

Have a good one!

These Are The Days

I was hoping to have sun-shiny weather this weekend,  but it's gray and cloudy outside.  However, inside is all fun and games. Today I am thankful for family, friends that are like family, and laughter.  I have really enjoyed playing with my friend's 1 year old. He is so cute and I'm in love! All I try to do is make him laugh. And I'm very successful at that.  This morning he pointed at me and then pointed at himself and giggled.  I really love his smile. Ok ok, thats enough gushing for now.

Tonight I will be making enchiladas.  I'm pretty good at it when I have the recipe, but I'm recipe-free tonight.  So this will be an adventure I'm sure.   I'm kindof stressed that I still have Christmas decorations out at my house.  But it is what it is.  I'll just throw it all in the closet and call it a day.

Today's song is These Are The Days by Jamie Cullum.  It is one of my favorite songs and always makes me reminisce about my childhood.  Have a great day readers!

Resolve

Happy New Year! I'm spending this new year's weekend at my friend Tiffany's house. And let me tell you this, we are having a great time! Last night the six of us went to Red Rocks. I ordered a fillet Mignon and the husband had herb chicken.  I wish you could hear me say "herb."  I never say it the correct way and it usually makes people chuckle.

Before our trip we dropped the dog off with the neighbor.  I was surprised about how emotional I was!  I'm not one of those people that dress up their dog.  Also, I do logically understand that she is "just a dog."  But I was sad and then stressed out about being sad.  Over and over again I heard "she is just a dog."  By the next morning I was over it though.  Go me!

Today's song is Resolve by Foo Fighters.  As far as I can remember, I've never heard this song before.  I did go to their concert in 2006 or 2007. I went with Meg, Kurt, and the husband.  Up until that concert I never realized it was them singing Everlong (which is one of my favorite songs even though I didn't know the artist). I hope everything that needed to be resolved for you in 2010 was because 2011 is officially here!

Our Day Will Come

I'm so excited!  I hit over 100 page views.  I am really surprised by that.  Also, I am now part of the 20 Something Bloggers network.  That, too, is exciting! (commas anybody?)

I didn't get a chance to tell you yesterday, but carbon monoxide poisoning scares me.  Wikipedia states, " Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas, but, being colorless, odorless, tasteless, and non-irritating, it is very difficult for people to detect."  Umm, how are we supposed to protect ourselves then?  I hear on the news about once a month that an old couple have died in their sleep due to this.  I also heard this week of people dying in a hotel.  You are on vacation, at a nice hotel and BAM you have died in your sleep.  Scary!

I had a delicious dinner last night with the husband.  It was at a small Italian restaurant.  Usually we only eat at this restaurant for special occasions, but that was not the case yesterday.  I told the husband about 100 times how much I loved him and how he was awesome.  He mostly said, "Thanks" and "I feel the same."  I mentioned how I felt great, like after I've had a glass of wine. He said "I think the carbs are talking."

Today's song is Our Day Will Come the Jamie Cullum edition.  I think that really describes today and my arrival on the blog scene.  Thanks everyone who has helped and encouraged me!
