Currently, the husband is kicking butt while doing p90x yoga at four in the morning! I thought that would be me as well today. But no. I was 10 minutes into it, in the lovely downward facing dog position and then it felt like my wrists snapped. Now please believe me when I say that I really do need my wrists in my day to day life. My wrists are ALL I need to perform my job duties. So I'm very protective of them. Hopefully yoga day can be moved to the weekend. I rather get in really intense workouts during the workweek. I promised him I wouldn't go back to bed, (it being 4:30 AM and all) so blogging was the alternative. Hah!
I've lost almost 2 inches on my stomach in almost 2 weeks. I like measuring inches instead of pounds, because the inches come off faster. My weight-loss friend introduced me to a video on youtube. Yay for more motivation! (this is not my video)
Again, this is NOT ME! But this video does encourage me to continue on this journey. She made her changes within one year. I really like how she is a regular person and shows where she started from. It really is just a lifestyle change and not a 90 day diet. Keep sweating friends!

Snowman in July
Yesterday morning started with a trip to the vet. The pup needed her annual shots and I decided I would drive her there. She knows something is up before we even make it to the parking lot. However, she did great and didn't panic too much. In fact I panicked more than her.
While we were in the main lobby, a bald-headed younger man, full of tattoos (including a teardrop near his eye, spiderweb on his elbow, and tattoos on his actual head) was in there with his pitbull. Now, I'm not terribly close-minded and understand that there may be one or two "nice" pitbulls out there, but none I have ever met. (The one I did meet a while back actually PISSED on me!) But in this case, the owner was much more scarier than the dog. He turned to me and said "Isn't that a schnauzer?" "Yes," I said in a very quiet tone. Thankfully, he mostly talked to the lady behind the desk.
Then the pup and I waited in our room for a while. She just kept walking around and looking at me expectantly. The nice vet tech came in and whisked the pup to the back for the annual fecal examine. I'm so glad I don't have to see that. But if I remember right, when I was a child, the vet techs would do that in front of the humans. Hmmm, maybe I suppressed those memories. Anyways, the pup is very healthy. Her weight is great and she no longer has lipids in her eye. Which the vet said was "unusual." I guess I have a wonder-dog!
This was my first purchase of the day. Originally, I just wanted the black bowl with the bird design. But it said $5 for the set. I thought that meant just the four bowls but it included the plates too! The seller stated they were from UrbanOutfitters. Score!
This red and gold bowl is quite heavy. It was marked at $8 but I purchased it for $5. I will use it around Christmas time and set gold balls and ornaments or gold potpourri in it. Can't wait!
My very first Christmas yard ornament. I love snowmen! The buyer had him plugged in to show that he worked and he looked so friendly to me. I was giddy with excitement and the husband and buyer just looked at me like I was crazy. Eventually they both laughed with (at) me. This purchase was for $15.
Have a good week!

After that the husband and I went garage sellin'. It was drizzly and cloudy so the heat was manageable. I even purchased some items and got a shopper's high. Albeit a cheap one. Below are some of my treasures. Enjoy!

Smaller Curves Ahead!
Yesterday was my birthday. I'm now the ripe ol' age of 27. I started the day off by eating a delicious breakfast with my husband at the local bakery. I had eggs-over-medium, bacon, a biscuit with cold gravy, and potatoes. It was pretty yummy besides the cold gravy. I left the bakery without cookies, cupcakes, or a cake. That is a great accomplishment for myself.
Then at 10am, I went to my hair stylist and received a much needed haircut. It looks so much better! The length is to my shoulders and layered. Or "thinned out" as the husband called it. I don't think I ate lunch yesterday because I was saving room for dinner.
For dinner I went to Surin 280 with three other people. I can't get enough of their tofu coconut soup. It is so creamy and delicious. I wish I could describe it better for you. It was the first time my husband and I went there together. He ordered the bbq chicken and I had the Thai noodle bowl. I can't wait to go again.
While we are on the subject of food, I should let you know that I'm about to start a "healthier lifestyle" phase (aka diet). My friend "T" and I are starting it tomorrow and will keep each other accountable. I do not want to let myself or her down. I think with her help, I can finally become successful at this.
My plan to achieve weight loss is the P90X workout program, a Shakeology drink every morning after the workout, eat sensibly 5 times a day, and push my water. And to truly understand that this will not happen overnight and to NOT GIVE UP!
I'm hesitant to put all my measurements and before pics out on blogworld just yet. But, I will once I reach my target of 115 pounds. That is the weight I was on my wedding day and is a reasonable, healthy goal. Have a great week!

Childhood Relic
Most weeks Thursday evening feels like the start of the weekend. My plan for this weekend is to get some things accomplished! What that means to me is clean out the garage, weed and prune, and begin a wood project with the husband.
When I got home from work today the inside of the house was at 90 degrees! The repairman wasn't here yet, so I headed to the grocery store. While I was there I found a relic from my childhood. I opened it up and took a big sniff. Ahhhh the warmth of nostalgia. I'm starting to regret that I didn't purchase the giant container of Mr. Bubble. Him and I in the tub sounds like a great time right about now.
When I arrived home from the grocery store, the A/C repairman's van was parked in the driveway. So I had to park in the street and make multiple trips back and forth from the trunk to the house, with the groceries. Of course while doing so, I stumbled.
The repairman gave us a temporary fix. But we will need a brand new unit soon. Yikes!!!
Have a good weekend!

It's Hot Captain Obvious
The A/C is still broke. I think we may call the repairman tomorrow. It was a pleasant 88 degrees inside the house when I got home from work. I'm blessed to even know what A/C feels like, however I do want it back. Even the pup is accustomed to the cool air. Here she is hogging the fan.
Newsflash! The Krispy Kreme finally opened. This is both good and bad news. Good because wonderful donuts are close by. Bad because now I have to pass by TWO donut shops on the way to work. Time to update the dress code at work to include sweatpants. Because that is all I will be able to fit into soon.
Also, can the neighborhood kids please stop igniting fireworks now? It is the 6th. I don't want to sound cranky, but it takes me a while to decide if I am hearing fireworks or an army calvary.
Have a good one!

Tiny Hiatus
Well that was quite a hiatus. There is no way I can catch everyone up on my life from February 1st. Geez! I didn't mean to be away for that long. Let's just begin with today.
Casey Anthony was found not guilty. I did not start following this case until 3 weeks ago. That is when my husband's aunt got me hooked on it. It was all she talked about. And since I wanted to be a part of the conversation, I followed her lead. Let's just say she is seriously ticked off about the verdict.
I went to my last meeting with the counselor. It is with a faith-based organization which is what I was seeking. I've reached the end of a difficult stage in my life and I feel great about pressing through it successfully. I have learned so much about myself and am truly thankful for that.
The air conditioner is broke. Now that sucks. It's July in Alabama! Ugh! This happened last year or the year before and cost 2K to fix. It will not read below 80 in the house. Even the dog is hogging the fan. The husband suggested I go look at the unit outside to see if it was frozen with ice (while it was raining). Well it was frozen over, in the summertime. So we turned it off. Perhaps it will repair itself once thawed out. Positive thinking!
I hope to be more regular 'round these parts. I really do enjoy blogging and reading blogs. Thanks for sticking around!
